1. Hosting on wordpress.com

If your site is hosted on wordpress.com, the URL of the site will look like this: www.vasa-stran.wordpress.com. This is not recommended for a professional online presence. If you have your own domain, the cost of joining will be €13. You can also lease it through wordpress.com for €18 (for 1 year).

You can also choose to upgrade to the Premium or Business package. The Premium package gives you extra server space and graphic template (theme) options, while the Business package offers more than 150 additional premium graphic templates. You will also get unlimited server space and live help (in English). Both packages will take care of your site’s security. This will be taken care of by wordpress.com, through a partner company.

Paid graphic templates are also available. Prices range from €19 to €150. Please note: they are not transferable to another hosting if you decide to use it later.

The annual cost is €99 for the Premium plan and €299 for the Business plan.

All three packages are suitable for casual content creators. You will have some restrictions on settings, graphic templates, plugins and other options, such as:

• connecting with your target audience,
• creating a network of subscribers,
• growing your social following,
• improving your optimisation,
• offering basic extras such as memberships, online courses, various communication channels, etc,
• making a profit on the website.

2. Hosting in Slovenia

4. Specialised hosting for WordPress sites

This hosting is suitable for websites with at least 10,000 visitors per day and more than 2 TB of monthly data traffic. You’ll get an advanced security package, web space on your own server and optimisation tools. Another important advantage is the top-class support (in English).

The less pleasant part of this type of hosting is the cost. The cost for a standard hosting package for the first year is around €500, and around €1,560 for an advanced package. Add to that the annual cost of the domain (€10 for a .COM domain).
