The limit on the number of emails you can send in 1 hour depends on which hosting package you are using. You can check the limits for each individual roaming package in the Terms of Use (section 4.3) .

The number of emails you can send in 1 hour is set by default to 10% of the maximum number of emails you can send in 1 hour (but not less than 30 messages in 1 hour). You can switch this limit off at any time in your My NEOSERV subscription centre.

Why is the limit on the number of emails sent in 1 hour set to only 10% of the maximum limit by default?

A virus on the website, which can occur for various reasons, can lead to SPAM being sent to random recipients. This situation occurs most often when the website is not updated and properly secured.

If SPAM mail is sent from a server, the IP address of the server may be blacklisted and, as a consequence, users cannot even send legitimate messages from that IP address to certain recipients, as they will be identified as SPAM. Since in shared hosting all domains on the same server are located on the same IP address, they can all be blacklisted.

This is also the reason why the default number of emails sent is set to only 10% of the maximum, or a minimum of 30 emails sent in 1 hour, which is sufficient for most users. If SPAM mail is sent out due to a web virus, this will reduce the amount of SPAM messages sent and reduce the chance of the server ending up on a blacklist.

This measure provides better protection for you and other users who are hosted on the same server. However, if you wish to relax this restriction on your hosting package, you can arrange this in your My NEOSERV subscription centre.

Where can I change the restriction?

You can change the limit on the number of emails sent in 1 hour in your My NEOSERV subscription centre, under the Your domains/hosting tab. In the list of services, find and click on the hosting package you want to change this limit for.

My NEOSERV - Domains and hosting

Find the heading “Restrict sending emails” and click on the Release restriction button. This will change the default limit on the number of emails you can send in 1 hour to the maximum for your hosting package.
