USER INSTRUCTIONS

Search instructions

In this article, we’ll take a look at how you can quickly and easily connect your leased domain to the Blogger platform, which is very popular these days. You can set up a domain link with just a few clicks.

First, log in to the administration part of the Blogger system and select “Settings from the left-hand menu.

Blogger - Control panel

Blogger - Basic settings

In the “Blog Address field, select + “Set up a third-party URL for your blog“, where you then enter your domain, which must start with the www prefix.

Blogger - Adding your own domain

The “Use a missing files host” field does not need to be configured separately.

Blogger - Domain

Once you have entered your domain correctly, click “Save” to save the new default web address, and Blogger will then generate two random domain records for you to add to your DNS zone.

You can editthe DNS settings for your domain in the My NEOSERV Subscription Center -> Your Domains / Hosting -> Domain -> Enable DNS Hosting -> Edit DNS Records.

If you are using a hosting package with us, you can edit the aforementioned domain records in the cPanel Control Panel, where you need to manually add the domain and connect the DNS servers accordingly.

There are two ways to add a domain:

  • as an “Addon domain” or “Added domain”,
  • as an“Alias”.

When you add a domain in the cPanel Control Panel, you will need to enter the correct DNS servers for it, which can be done in the My NEOSERV Subscription Center -> Your Domains / Hosting -> Domain -> Connect a domain to hosting.

Once you have done that, you can move on to the next step, which is to enter the domain records that Blogger has generated for you.

Blogger - Domain Records

You need to add the following records, either under DNS hosting or cPanel Control Panel -> DNS Zone:

CNAME www ghs.google.com
A 216.239.32.21
A 216.239.34.21
A 216.239.36.21
A 216.239.38.21
CNAME (randomly generated record from Blogger interface)

It would also make sense to check that some of the records have not already been created. If one of the domain records is already registered, you can easily change it.

After the domain records have been entered, you will need to wait between 4-24 hours. Each DNS change takes 4-24 hours (longer in extreme cases). This is how long it takes to refresh all the global and Slovenian DNS servers of the ISPs (Telekom Slovenije, A1, T-2, Telemach, etc.).

After the domain has been refreshed, you can return to the Blogger interface by clicking on the “Save” button.

Once you have confirmed the above, just in case, check the domain name on the “Edit” link, in addition to your domain name, if it has the www prefix and the “Redirect vasadomena.si to www.vasadomena.si”checkbox, and you are done.

Blogger - Domain Redirection

Blogger - Added domains

If you have followed the instructions correctly, your website should be working normally (after 4-24 hours).

In case your website does not work properly, we suggest you follow the next steps after you have completed the procedure:

  • Try refreshing your website with Ctrl + F5(hard refresh).
  • Try clearing the cache in your web browser(Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.).
  • Check again that your website is now working.
