How to Connect a Domain to Adobe Portfolio

You don’t need your own domain to set up a website with Adobe Portfolio, as the service allows you to use a subdomain on myportfolio.com (example: mojastran.myportfolio.com). However, it will look much more professional if you use your own domain (example: vasadomena.si), which the service also allows you to do.

Below you will learn how to link your own domain to Adobe Portfolio.

Linking your domain to Adobe Portfolio

1. After logging in to your Adobe Portfolio account, select the website you want to be accessible on your own domain by clicking Edit site.

2. Click Settings in the left menu to open the settings window. You will see the Domain Name tab and click on the Connect your domain button.

3. In the box that appears, enter your domain (example: vasadomena.si) and click on the blue Connect button.

4. After clicking on the button, you will be shown the instructions and the A records that you need to enter in the DNS settings of your domain.

5. Log in to the cPanel control panel where your domain is hosted (login instructions) and under DOMAINS, look for the Zone Editor icon and click on it.

6. For the domain you want to associate with Adobe Portfolio, click on the Manage button.

7. Delete the A record where the Name is written in the following format: vasadomena.si. Also delete the CNAME record where the name is written in the form: www.vasadomena.si.

8. Add all four A records that you received from Adobe Portfolio in step 4.

9. Return to Adobe Portfolio and click Apply in the previously opened window (Connect your domain).

This completes the process of connecting Adobe Portfolio to your own domain, but please note that it can take up to 72 hours (usually 24-48 hours) to refresh your DNS records. Therefore, the website will not be visible on your domain immediately, but only after some time.
