DNS Propagation Time: How Long Does It Take
If you want to change the DNS servers for a domain, you can do this in the My Neoserv Subscription Centre. You can also find help in the How do I change DNS servers?. Changing DNS servers is refreshed every few hours in most cases, but in rare cases it can take up to 72 hours.
The time it takes for the TLRs to refresh the DNS server settings is also important. The table below shows the times required to make the change for popular domain extensions:
| DOMAIN | TIME TO MAKE THE CHANGE |
|---|---|
| .com | a few minutes |
| .net | a few minutes |
| .org | a few minutes |
| .info | a few minutes |
| .si | every odd hour * |
| .eu | a few minutes |
| .hr | a few minutes |
| .at | a few minutes |
| .de | after the registry confirms that the server settings are appropriate ** |
| .it | when the registry confirms that the server settings are correct *** |
| .hu | when the registry confirms that the server settings are correct **** |
* for example, if you edit a change at 13:32, it will take effect at 15:00.
** DNS server settings must be valid before you send the DNS change. Please check the validity on the German Supreme Registry’s website.
*** the DNS servers setting must be valid before sending the DNS change. Please check the Italian Supreme Registry’s website for compliance.
