Additional Domain Ownership Verification (RAA)

As of 1 January 2014, a new rule came into force for the verification of the email address that is entered in the registry as the contact email address of the domain holder (WHOIS). This is usually the email address that you enter when you place an order for the registration of this domain.

Which domains are subject to the new rules?

ICANN RAA has added additional verification for all domain extensions except ccTLDs (national domains).

The rule applies to all newly registered domains after 1 January 2014.

For domains registered before this date, verification will be performed in the following cases:

• In case of transfer of the domain to a new registrar.
• In case of a change of contact (WHOIS) details (First Name, Last Name, E-mail address).
• If the domain was registered with inappropriate (false) data.

When and how do I verify the data?

You will receive a notification:

1. Immediately after registration/change
2. 7 days after the first message sent
3. 14 days after the first message sent

If you do not verify the information within 15 days of the first notification, the TLD will be suspended (deactivated) by the registrar until you confirm ownership via the confirmation link you will receive.

If you do not find the message in your inbox, please check your SPAM (Spam) box just in case.

For our users (NEOSERV.si) the message will be sent from the email address hosting@avant.si, the address of the message is “RAA verification mail”, an example of the content is shown in the picture below. The message is written in English and will be available in Slovenian shortly.

If you have problems with the authorisation or if you cannot find the message, please contact your registrar.
