How to Take a Screenshot (Print Screen)
WHAT IS A PRINT SCREEN / SCREENSHOT ?
A screen capture or screenshot is the full image (snapshot) of your screen at the moment you press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. That is to say, a snapshot records the contents of your screen that you have displayed on the screen at that moment. The system saves the image in your computer’s cache, which you can then paste/use in any image editor, such as Painter (Windows).
HOW DO I MAKE A PRINT SCREEN?
1. on your computer (screen), prepare the content you would like to record.
2. Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. The key may also be labelled Prt Scr, Prt Scn, Prt Sc, etc., depending on the keyboard, and is usually located on the top right-hand side. If your keyboard also uses an additional function key (usually labelled FN), remember to press this too, again depending on whether or not Print Screen is labelled as an additional function key on your keyboard. Function keys are usually coloured a different colour.
3. Open an image editing application. On Windows, the easiest way to do this is to use the pre-installed Paint. You can find Paint in Accessories, or you can use the search.
4. When the program starts, use the Control (Ctrl) + V shortcut to paste the image. If necessary, you can further format the image using the tools at your disposal.
5. Save the image, we recommend JPEG format – File —> SaveAs.
