How to Connect a Domain to Weebly

See how you can link and point a domain registered with NEOSERV to the Weebly platform.

If you have built your website using Weebly and you want to use your domain registered with NEOSERV, you need to link the domain to your website.

Weebly is an online platform for building websites. It eliminates the need for manual coding and replaces the process with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Weebly is free to use, but if you want to publish your website on your own domain, you have to pay for it. You can choose between different packages.

Before you start, make sure you have the appropriate Weebly package that allows you to link your domain to the Weebly platform. The Starter package is sufficient.

You will need:

• access to the cPanel control panel,
• access to a Weebly account.

Step 1: point the domain to Weebly’s IP address

In the cPanel Control Panel (cPanel login instructions), locate and open the Zone Editor section.

In the list of domains, find the one you want to point to Weebly. Then click on the A Record link on the right-hand side.

After selecting the desired domain, select Manage on the right-hand side. Find the A record of your domain and click on the Edit button.

Replace the current value in the address field with the Weebly IP address – 199.34.228.59

Save your changes by selecting Save Record.

You have just redirected your domain to the Weebly platform. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for the change to take effect, as you will need to wait for the changed DNS record to refresh.

Step 2: Connect your domain to Weebly

Now that you have successfully pointed your domain to Weebly’s IP address, you need to assign a domain to your website in your Weebly account.

In your Weebly editor user account, select Settings, located at the top of the page.

In the Website Address section, click on the Change button.

A new pop-up window will open.

Select Use a Domain You Already Own, enter the domain name in the box and click Continue.

Your domain is now successfully linked to the Weebly platform.
