Error 0x800CCC90 is one of the common errors that can occur to users of the Outlook email sending tool. The error occurs while sending or receiving emails. Check below how you can fix this error in a few steps.
Possible causes of error 0x800CCC90
- Wrong port number for the outgoing server.
- Port blocked by the ISP.
- Using the wrong user and/or password to access the Outlook account.
- Blocking of sending/receiving emails by an antivirus program.
Error 0x800CCC90
In case you have entered the correct username and password, you have temporarily disabled the antivirus program and the error still occurs when sending/receiving emails, please follow the steps below to fix it.
- Click on File -> Info -> Account Settings.
- In the E-mail tab, double-click your e-mail account to view or change the settings.
- Click on the More Settings … button in the bottom right corner.
- In the Advanced tab, enter 995 for the POP3 server and 587 for the SMTP server and select a secure SSL connection.
- Save the change by clicking OK and check that sending/receiving email is now working.
If the error still occurs, follow the steps below:
- Click on File -> Info -> Account Settings.
- In the E-mail tab, double-click on your e-mail account.
- Click on the More Settings … button in the bottom right corner.
- Then, within the same window, move to the Outgoing Server tab and add a tick to the My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication setting.
- Save your changes and resend/receive your e-mails.
