Quick WordPress Installation Using Softaculous

WordPress is by far the most popular system for easy website building. It is easy to use, so it is suitable for beginners, and it is available in Slovene. Thanks to its popularity, there are plenty of plugins available to transform your website into a personal page, a business presentation, a blog, an online gallery, an online shop, etc.

In addition to plugins, you’ll also find a wide range of paid and free graphic themes / templates online that make it even easier to change the look and feel of your website quickly. Both plugins and graphical templates can be installed quickly and easily via the WordPress administration.

How to install WordPress?

With NEOSERV, you can install WordPress with just a few clicks via the Softaculous interface, which is located in the cPanel control panel. The process is completely easy and will not take you more than a minute.

1. Log in to the cPanel Control Panel (login instructions).

2. Locate the Softaculous Apps Installer section and click on the WordPress icon.

3. In the window where the WordPress platform is described, click on the Install Now button.

4. Edit your WordPress installation settings:

• Software Setup

• • Choose Protocol – choose the protocol(http / https) and specify whether the website will be accessible on the www subdomain(www.vasadomena.si) or not(vasadomena.si). If you have an SSL certificate installed on your domain, choose https, otherwise choose http.
  • Choose Domain – the domain where you want to install WordPress.
  • In Directory – if you want your website to be accessible directly on your domain, delete the default wp setting in the box (so leave the box blank). In this case, WordPress will be installed at vasadomena.si. However, if you leave wp in the field, the system will install at vasadomena.si/wp.
  • Version to Install – we advise you to choose the latest version of WordPress.
• Site Settings

• • Site Name – the name of your website (you can change this setting later in the WordPress administration).
  • Site Description – a description of your website (you can change this setting later).
  • Enable Multisite (WPMU) – tick if you intend to set up multiple WordPress sites, all through a single WordPress administration.
• Admin Account
  • Admin Username – the username for logging in to the WordPress administration. For security reasons, we advise you to change the default admin name.
  • Admin Password – password for logging in to the WordPress administration. Specify a strong password with letters, numbers and special characters.
  • Admin Email – the email address of the administrator / site manager.
• Select Plugins

• • Manage Plugin Sets – allows you to select and install ready-made sets of plugins and graphic templates that you can use on your WordPress site.
• Extended Settings
  • Select Language – the language of WordPress administration (you can change this setting later).
• Advanced Options

• • Database Name – the name of the database to be used for the WordPress site.
  • Table Prefix – prefix for the names of the tables in the database. We advise you to keep the default setting.
  • Auto Upgrade WordPress Plugins – automatically update the plugins.
  • Auto Upgrade WordPress Themes – automatically update graphical templates.
  • Auto Upgrade – automatically update the WordPress core.
  • Backup Location – location to store backups of WordPress sites. We advise you to leave the setting at Default, as we at NEOSERV already take care of automatically creating backups of your entire hosting package.
• Email installation details to – the email address to which you will receive installation information.

5. Click on the Install button and wait a moment for the WordPress installation process to complete.

Please note: If you encounter the notification shown in the image below after the installation process is complete, tick the Select the checkbox to overwrite all files and continue and click the Install button again, located at the very bottom of this page.

6. When the system is successfully installed, you will see a notification with two links:

• A link to your new WordPress site,
• a link to the WordPress Administration URL.
